By far, the best quality carpets ever produced are indisputably the Persian quality carpets. They are superior in quality, followed by Turkish quality carpets. Persian carpets were made to last a lifetime and, without any concern, can be placed under all types of heavy furniture. Due to the quality of the woven knots, the Persian vintage carpets are much stronger and can weigh as much as ten times more than Turkish carpets.
We highly recommend that you only buy Persian or Turkish vintage carpets since. Other nations do not have as strong of a reputation or knowledge in carpet weaving as of 20 to 50 years ago, the period from which vintage carpets are chosen.
Tip: Look out for the Tabriz quality Persian vintage carpets, as they have the reputation of being the best region in Iran for carpet production and are more expensive and valuable to collect.
